Not a surprise considering he hasn't participated at all in camp. Hoping its only a month or so. Would love to have Hickey and Pugh at the tackle positions.

The surgery was too close to the opener to take a chance?? That's curious since we've known the opening date for quite some time and Pugh obviously knew his surgery date. No one sat him down and said you need XX days between surgery and first game.

Yeah, this is going to sound strange, but I'm kind of glad he's out. I know Rahme said he could get back into the swing quickly, but I think that sounds risky for such an important game. Plus Hickey has been working left side all camp (as far as we know), so keep him there for this game. After it, hopefully Pugh can officially start contact, Hickey can take a lot more snaps on the right side. We have 3 weeks until the next most important game, so plenty of time to get everything in place.

He has had zero contact in months. It would be foolish at best to play him this week. I hope that he can play against USC as im sure it would be a thrill for him.
