[QUOTE="SWC75, post: 2755379, member: 289"] Just some bullet points from watching the second exhibition game on watch ESPN. - We beat an Elite 8 Division II team with all our point guards still out by 37 points. - JB's new 2-2-1 process harassed the Dolphins, normally a team that takes good care of the ball, into 26 turnovers. Marek was particularly good in the press, with his long arms and quickness. the scheme allows us to take valuable time away from the other team even if they get the ball down the court and yet retain the integrity of the half-court defense, which has always been JB's priority. - We held two pretty good DII teams to 49 and 52 points, respectively. They were over-matched but that's the point. Our defense seems to be everything we hoped it could be, although there are much stiffer tests to come. - Elijah Hughes sure can shoot it, scoring 40 points in the two games, (15 for 23 from the field, including 5 for 9 from three). But he needs to work on his handle. he lost his dribble or had the ball tapped away from him several times. - We got out-rebounded by LeMoyne 33-36. A lot of that was long rebounds where the LeMoyne players were just quicker to the ball. Sometimes our guys were too close to the basket and the ball bounced over their heads. They seemed to have no concept of an equal and opposite reaction when a brick comes in at the basket. - Chukwu showed some moves, dribbling around on defender for a score and catching passes better than he did last year. Sidibie also showed some moves but had trouble finishing. Ditto Braswell. - Buddy had 3 steals and in the two games scored 32 points on 12 for 22 shooting, including 6 for 12 from 3. - Tyus had 11 assists and 2 turnovers as point guard in these two games. - Loved it when Tyus made a save behind his back to Marek who did a touch pass to Buddy who drained a three.
