With yesterday's news that Noel is cleared for take off how confident are you that he'll choose to display his talents in front of 34, 000 screaming Nerlen Noel flat top fans in 2012-2013?

I'm hearing our chances are better than 50-50. Noel from Michael Carter-Williams will raise the decibel levels to new heights.

Just do it!

Melo is standing weird in that picture. Is he slouching, what's going on there?? :)

Im getting very excited, So what still needs to happen

We have the last in home visit. Does he have any other trips scheduled. If not can we expect a decision pretty soon

He visited SU Midnight Madness
SU has the last in-home visit
SU happens to be playing in Boston this weekend
:noidea: I like our chances

Melo looks like some nerdy fan in this picture all like Nerlens, Nerlens can I get a picture with you...sayyyy Facebook!!!!!

Wow! some really negative stuff in the comments in the linked article. If all true, could be some cause for concern...

NOT!

maybe I'm just being counter-phobic, but I still think he ends up in Lexington.

Melo can not resist the strong gravitation pull of Noel. 58% chance that he comes to SU.

All i know is that uk had their in-home yesterday, I believe and the uk messageboard has soured on Noel considerably. Now we have Jake giving us crypttic smiley faces. Im feelin goooood.

I think UK fans expected Cal to leave with a commitment, which obviously did not happen :noidea:

I'm with Marsh and Moqui; call me crazy, but I assume he is going to UK until I officially hear otherwise.

Dont say that,

How bout Nerlens and his mother are finally ppl who come around who can be bought by that used car salesman who happens to coach kentucky basketball

How bout this kid and his mother have values and morals

At this point, I just want this whole recruiting saga to be over and done with, wherever he goes. I just want to know one way or the other.

At the same time, though, there is the Bernie Fine situation, the drug situation, and the fact that SU basketball players do not do well academically. If you're going to base your argument on "values and morals" then at least play both sides.

Me too.

Glad he didn't commit on the spot to UK, but I don't read too much into that. Kid probably just wants to let the process play out this week in its entirety, to make a fully informed choice.

I'm glad that we have the lost in-home visit, but I don't read much into any of this stuff. Hope he comes our way, but like Moqui / Marsh I am not counting on him coming here. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

I get your point but if Noels mom is worried about academics how about we look at a school that makes kids go to school vs one that has classes set up with easy A's? I'm not saying SU doesn't have their share of easy classes, they do, but why does Kentucky not have any problems academically? I do agree that SU can't play the morality card but if they are fixing any of the existing problems and can show Noel/his mom what they are doing to repair what's happened, I think it'll go a long way in helping ease her and his minds.

I think it's between us and Georgetown, and the reason is exactly what you just said about Kentucky. I think that he ends up here because he'll be closer to home, MCW will assure his mom that the program is much better than what everyone is seeing in the news, the academics, and JB and Hop dispel all fears of lack of institutional control at the in-home.

Brandon Knight had something like a 4.0 in high school. He was an excellent student. Pretty sure he got a 3.5 at UK his one year there. He would have gotten a 3.5 at SU, UK, UNC, or Duke.

However, how do guys like Demarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe pass? Didn't Bledsoe almost flunk out of high school? There was some skecthy transcript alterations during his junior/senior years in HS just to make him eligible for college. How does he handle playing D1 and college?:noidea:
