Here's an old scouting report from espn on Jones(Dec 08): doesn't seem all that bad for a walk on- maybe he could give us some decent minutes if a big gets hurt/ in foul trouble. Seems like he's cut from the brandon bass/ craig smith mold but not quite a good obviously. Best of luck to the young man!!
The big man from Novia Scotia has really settled in and is playing much better basketball now than he was earlier in the fall. He's flying fairly low under the radar to this point. But he has the upper body of a linebacker with huge shoulders and excellent muscle mass through his chest. He's also athletic, running the floor well for a guy his size, getting off his feet pretty quickly, and playing well above the rim. His blend of power and athleticism makes him a force around the rim as he goes to get the rebound, can dunk through contact or finish with either hand, and block shots both on the ball and coming from the weak side. He can make an elbow jumper with good elevation and a high release. His back to the basket game is also raw as he will often try to face up and attack or out-jump his defender for his turn-around jumper. Overall, he was a little lethargic earlier in the year when he was getting adjusted, but now looks every bit like a future D-I four-man.
