NOLA just published the Terrell Hunt break down piece

Dear Coach Shafer,

Gotcha.

Sincerely,

"Cinnamon Ring" Cohen

haha...I can just picture the Tulane Coaches sitting around his article; studying it and laughing about how they now have us figured out. Little do they know it is all part of our plan so they don't do any film study on their own...suckers!

This is ripe for a UEO what have we learned

cohen is a sniveling little punk who knows nothing about football and has nothing substantive to say unlike dave rahme and cohen's detailed analytical breakdown is a godsend to opposing coaches who will use it against us

If he Cohen doesn't know anything how can anything he writes be a god send to the opponent?

I'm going to send you some AA batteries ... I think your sarcasm detector needs some juice.

Have a look at NOLA's coverage of LSU football. It's interesting to see how differing the headlines read, how much more constructive and positive they are. Clearly these guys know they need relationships to properly cover the team. And this is a newhouse publication as well, same publishers as the post standard...but I don't think they've had the print production cut and shift to digital that the post standard has seen. I think we are the lucky recipients of a media experiment - if it works they will roll it out across their underperforming money losing newspaper properties (the good markets will likely get to keep their print paper at least for a while).

http://www.nola.com/lsu/ - i mean there is some of the same annoying stuff but the tone is much more respectful.

(psst i was making a joke about that contradiction)

LSU's records, past 10 years:

13-1
9-3
11-2
11-2
12-2
8-5
9-4

6-6
6-6
1-10
4-8
2-10
3-9
4-8
8-5
5-7
8-5

Strange that their coverage would generally be more positive.

;)

His "breakdown"doesn't bother me as much as the coaches say our zone read look isn't really a zone read and we don't want Terrell running.

Kinda defeats the purpose, unless it is all disinformation to mess with opponents.

FWIW: by adding up their 5 worst years win total, one will find it equals Syracuse's 10 year Win total.

:rolling:

Oh Lord

I don't know though man. Stern informed the board yesterday to "go read a local newspaper in Alabama country, or Ohio St country, or Tennessee country...they are brutal!" "The local rags are usually more harsh, more critical, and in some cities downright nasty when it comes to the local college. Cohen is a puppy dog compared to some other reporters in other cities"

I guess he doesn't read NOLA.

On a side note NOLA was the first paper nationally to go semi-digital.

If course the content is going to be more positive when covering wins than losses. My point was that the reporters seem much more respectful even in the pieces that discuss problems or issues (the quarterback interview, or the summons piece). They seem more mature and far less like giant DBs than some at the PS. And this is the same parent company. Look at Clemson , nc state, or Rutgers coverage if you want a spectrum. None of them put up with the BS we get.

Exactly. No way they would though.
