Senior Lucas Quinn will suit up for the 4 p.m. game Saturday at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, coach Gary Gait said after Wednesday’s practice.

He said Quinn should be “ready to give us some minutes” after missing the team’s previous five games.

Gait also did not slam the door on star sophomore lefty attack Owen Hiltz returning to the field this season.

“Owen Hiltz is looking better every day,” Gait said, “and he’s improving and getting cleared to do more and more.”

Hiltz, out since late January with an upper-body injury, has not been cleared to practice, Gait said.

The first-year men’s coach said Wednesday the two have not finalized whether Hiltz will sit out the rest of the season and apply for a medical hardship waiver to preserve the year of eligibility.

“We’re just trying to get him healthy enough to be cleared to get back out on the field and do some things,” Gait said. “That’s the next step.”
