First of all, this is NOT directed solely towards JB. With the huge number of players in the portal, is this a good time for ANY school to make a coaching change. Any school that has multiple players leaving and perhaps 3 or 4 other scholarships available, a new coach could come in and completely overhaul a program in 1 year! The extreme case is Wake. With 7 in the portal, what a different team that will be if it can fill all thos slots. Did Shaka Smart get a good opportunity to make an impact right away? Of course an existing coach could do much the same. Don't mean to rehash and if it is, I'm srry.

In general, I agree; a good coach could take over a program and feed well; largely from the Portal. Next year we may well see some examples of this.
This won’t happen at Syracuse, for the many reasons that have already been numerously posted on one thread or another.

The coaches that flourish in all this will be the ones that adapt the most quickly to all the changes. In some ways Mark Few has been ahead of the curve, masterfully plucking high level transfers. He was also ahead of the curve with international players.

Programs could benefit from new coaches that are savvy and connected but they could also benefit from their current coaches adapting quickly. Some will. Some won’t want to. Like Roy.

Could very well be. Only time will truly tell. Not anybody who posts here.
