Briles first 3 winning seasons were 2010, 2011, 2012, with 7-6, 10-3, 8-5 records. So by using the logic that: The 2010 team was made up using recruits from 2007-2010 recruiting classes, those classes were ranked 52nd, 56th, 44th, 51st. The 2011 team was made of classes ranking 56th, 44th, 51st, 52nd The 2012 team was made of classes ranking 44th, 51st, 52nd, 30th If you put any stock into recruiting service rankings, you have to admit, that those 3 teams had talent that ranked right around where our talent ranks. I don't think you can compete for titles with those classes, but using Briles system can make you relevant, ranked, and where we would all love to be right now. Now Baylor has strung together back to back 11 win seasons, and possibly another 10 win this year using back up QB's. Now they're building momentum that started with those first 3 successful seasons. Now the recruiting is up another notch, and they're compiling serious talent with classes that ranked 26th in 2013, 23rd in 2014, and 44th for 2015 with a 5 star player. This is the trajectory I hope to see with us. Slow, steady, maintainable growth. We already have talent that ranks in the 40-50's. We can have 7, 8, and 9 win seasons with the talent we get combined with the right coaches. I'd love to see us get in that 25-35 range, and see what Dino can do with that. By the way, Briles first 2 years were back to back 4-8 campaigns. I pray that our fanbase would be patient enough with Dino to sit through 2 years like that.
