Can somebody please tell me what our WR position will look like next year based on current recruiting and what is coming back. I have faith in OL, RB positions but to get better we will need better WR and QB play and I feel we have some options at QB just wondering what the WR core will look like.

Recruit wise we are looking to be in good shape at the WR position, however one or two more pickups would be nice.

We have KJ Williams, a legitimate 4 star talent. He's I believe the highest rated receiver we've picked up in a LONG time.

We got 6'6 beat Jamal Custis coming inwho should add the physical presence that we just do not have this year. It's always good to have a huge target to throw to.

And last but not least we have 2013 recruit Corey Cooper hopefully coming in. He's another highly rated wide out who in my mind with battle for the premier wideout position with KJ.

As for the returning receivers... I'd say with the talent coming in, it's going to be a battle for playing time from day 1.

I'd say you can bet on Cooper, rooming with AJ in January.

Steve Ishmael - tons of BCS offers and we're his favorite right now because of GMC.
Adly Enoicy - very interested in us, visiting in Jan, offers (most likely conditional) from FSU, Florida, Auburn, Vandy, Miami, Wiscy.

Excellent chance at landing 1 of the 2, good shot of landing both. Those two, with KJ Williams and Corey Cooper, and then Custis (WR/TE hybrid) brings a ton of playmaking ability to the offense. All 5 of those guys could play as true frosh next year and that's not an exaggeration.

add GM and DM to that and you have quite the offense... Just need to find someone who can throw the ball. A mobile QB would add a ton as well! Could be a very different type of year next year with that talent...

Gotta really like the size (and offers). Most of the listed offers seem to be legit.

What happens to Ben Lewis? Transfer/position switch?

Right now the WR situation looks very good going into next year, however, thats assuming everyone stays committed. Of all the WR commits ironically Cooper seems to me to be a 9.5 out of 10 to stay committed and re-sign with issue. I think KJ is for the most part solid Id put him at a 7 or 8 out of 10 but stil a little worry there. Custis is the one I worry about the most, seems to be still garnering a lot of attention as another poster mentioned above, really hope we can keep him committed, id put him at a 6 out of 10. I think were in good shape with both of the FL kids, really like Ishmael, getting him would be a huge coup.

Id say position switch or maybe more likely transfer. Dont be suprised if several WR's on these years roster are gone by next summer. Dont see much Pt coming for Lewis, Cornelious, Funderburke etc.

FWIW here are some stat lines from Miami HS football

WR
Steve Ishmael 68 /951 yards 14.0 ypc 15 td

QB
Alin Edouard 113 /169 1398 yards 11 td /8 int
Rushing
Alin Edouard 80 432 yards 5.4 ypc 6 TD

Responding to a couple of posts above:

I think we’ll have some WR roster turnover. I won’t guess who. I’d like to see someone like Ben Lewis not transfer and I believe he could be a legit safety prospect at 6-2 195.

Cornelius was on the field a lot against FSU. He’s solidly in the rotation. Top end speed, no, but great hands and he’s all of Jarrod West.

LSU offer doesn't exist for Custis, just letting you know.

Custis has said he is solid and not taking any other visits. Being able to walk on the hoops team helps. And LSU did not offer it was Purdue

Winfield could also be a good one, from what I recall. Serious hops.

Having more dynamic playmakers among the incoming kids will also make our existing guys better.

Wait - Adly Enoicy? Where did he come from? I can't recall we have ever been mentioned as in the mix. Is he a real possibility?

Sometimes it's OK to say "I don't know" when you don't know.

Our recruiting is going very well...

Just wait and see. WR and LB we got some studs. Oh yeah, plus 2 QB's, one of which could possibly get a chance next year named Alin.

If we close out strong, we could make it into the top 30, which would be our highest recruiting "ranking" in a long, long time.

What's the over/under on Funderburke returning next year?

Sometimes it's OK to say "I don't know" when you don't know.

Who could possibly know the answer to that? I was giving my opinion on who I think is likely to leave. When you bring in 4+ Wr's plus you redshirted two and your top slot guy is a true frosh this year the writing is pretty much on the wall.

He's only a red shirt Sophmore and has already transfered once so he isn't going anywhere

Could easily go to a 1AA and play right away, its not out of the question.
