I thought this article (link below) was completely unnecessary. First, I think it is too soon to judge some of our talent as being an NFL pick or not. These are young athletes, some of them haven't been tested for a full season yet. Sheesh.

Also, it is the coach's responsibility to coach the talent they have & put them in situations where they can succeed and make that name for themselves. Saying Lester "doesn't have much to work with" makes it sound like it is all a raw assessment of talent and the coaching doesn't fit into the equation.

Finally, what a horrible thing for our players -- current and prospective -- to read about this team. Just a kick in the gut during an already tough change. Not a classy way of reporting this team or its struggles, I expected better of the paper -- thought they had improved a lot in last last couple of years.

"Not much to work with", compared to who?

FSU/Clemson/ND? Correct, not much to work with.

Everyone else? Yea, we have enough.

It sounds like Carlson felt McDonald got the shaft.

I think he did too but we absolutely have enough to beat Maryland and not get beat down by Louisville.

Moving forward there is no reason we shouldn't have a great chance at winning every game left not against FSU or Clemson.

Well one positive that can be taken from this article - Chris isn't writing an article where he basically just regurgitates Rivals' rankings.

You do not need multiple NFL draft picks to have a successful college offense. You need to gameplan for what you have. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. Thats what our offense looked like so far this season. Same thing over and over, rarely worked, but yet expected a different result. When Marrone was here you could see a different game plan each game with a few specific plays they wanted to capitalize on. Then those plays were executed. They had their base plays but did something different each week, they did not do the same exact thing and expect a different result. ADJUSTMENTS ARE KEY.

agree this was a BS editorial, and isn't it SOP for newspapers to label opinion articles like this as editorials or blog posts. this is written like its an actual article.
