If Gary isn't they guy which I assume he would be, Tambroni would be great as well. That team looked inept last night. Embarassing really, Desko should be on the hot seat for sure. The seat should be warming up, but he isn't going anywhere soon. He had a disastrous year in 2007. But, he got it together to win the 2008 & 2009 championships. So, he could pull out of this swoon.

But, recruiting is potentially troubling. We all know that meathead coaching can lead to playing everybody else but your best players. Hopefully that is the case and we will see the younger players excell next year. But, if he is truly playing the best guys he's got, SU is in trouble.

I graduate HS with Jeff. He is really a susperstar in the coaching world and should have no trouble turning Penn State around.

Desko is losing on all fronts right now. They need new blood in there, either g gait or tambroni. Desko looks foolish right now. Nobody cares about yesterday

Tambroni is my # choice as well.

It's time for Desko to go. Look unless a shot clock is implemented the game is passing him by because he's never been a settled offensive coach. He's not very good unless he has top shelf one on one talent.

He's recruited poorly to which is showing. Some of these kids are nice tall big athletic kids but when you haven't played since birth the total game IQ is low and it shows.

If SU goes outside the coaching staff for the first time in program history, Tambroni would be the obvious #1 choice. West Genny guy, coached Cornell to the greatest success they've seen since the 70s, and he really knows CNY/Upstate lax. I'm not sure Gary is the right choice, as it seems to be a huge gamble to give such an excellent program to a relatively unproven women's coach. Hardly matters now though- Desko's here to stay until he doesn't feel like coaching anymore. You guys are insane for wanting him gone.

Part of the reason for the move away from Ithaca was to get his wife back into coaching (former AA field hockey player at PSU). Oddly, she's not listed on the coaches' roster this year. If she's not coaching, or no longer interested, SU should make a run for him...if the time comes to make a change.

You are seeing Syracuse take very athletic kids who have played the game 4-5 years in non traditional areas, where other schools are recruiting the out of the more taditional areas, CNT, Long Island, MD, etc. In addition, Syracuse's reputation as a renegade program won't help and has hurt them.

She is not coaching there. Don't know if they get him though. I think Jeff is pretty determined to build a real winner down at PSU. Getting a lot of solid southern tier kids down to State College, probably 2 years away from really making a nice run
