My hunch is that he will succeed here. But those who think he won't aren't crazy. There is reason to worry.

I'm fairly sure Doug wouldn't be texting his players about his departure on the way out.
Remember our much-coveted Randy Edsall did essentially the same to his program.
For that matter, I'm pretty sure Doug wouldn't leave until they drag him out of his office.
I don't think we have to worry about the "next shiny object" factor with Doug, and you can make all the jokes you want about nobody pursuing him, but I sense a little loyalty here might be rewarded.
