If Syracuse never blows that big lead in the 2nd half to Louisville in the BET Final, do you think Louisville goes on to cut down the nets last night? For one, it seemed like everyone was so enamored with their dominating 2nd half, everything just snowballed from there - they instantly became the tournament favorite, the trendy pick to win it all, they earned the overall # 1 seed, and in general it just seemed like the team's confidence was at an all-time high after that.

If we hadn't blown that lead, Louisville still gets a 1, but in a different region with a different draw, and significantly less momentum. One can only wonder...

Yes. I don't think the BET final really impacted either team, considering we both made it to the Final Four. It would have been nice to win that game, but I don't think it would have altered anything for either of us.

I get what you mean about the draw and region, but let's not forget the fact that even as the top 1 seed, they were handed a REALLY tough region and still came out. Hell, they'd have probably preferred a different region than the one they got.

all it likely would of done is move us off 4 line to 3 and maybe switch Louisville out of midwest

I'm not so sure - their region LOOKED hard, but everyone was on the bottom half of the bracket. They beat NC A&T, Colorado St., Oregon, Duke, Whicita St., and Michigan to win a title. I think they'd have signed for that in a heartbeat before the tournament started.

And who is to say a higher seed and a different draw wouldn't have given us tougher matchups?

I was thinking about this last night. I'm not sure if it would have affected UL, but there is good reason to think we don't make Final Four if we win that BET game. I just think we wound up with the perfect draw for how we were playing and what our strengths were.

exactly. it looked so tough cuz you had duke and michigan st in their bracket, but they were only gonna face 1 of those teams in elite 8. everyone had louisville in a cake walk to the elite 8, then that would be their tough game.
