[QUOTE="Alsacs, post: 623932, member: 652"] 1. I said I don't care HOW MUCH SU profits. As long as the AD is in the black we SU fans have no vested interest in how much profit our university makes. What does it matter how much profit to us fans SU makes as long as they make money I don't care if its 5 million or 6 million the University is still going to ask alumni/fans to donate to the university as they should. 2. That is pure SPIN by Dr. Gross my goodness the recruiting aspect isn't going to be any different by playing a game at Metlife. 3. What you don't get is that people who are diehards are going to support the program no matter what have stuck with program while it cratered out under Greg Robinson. We probably have a hardcore fanbase of 25k to 30k I don't live in NY, but I am a season ticket holder to help SU build up its numbers and because it is cheap and I go to 1 home game maybe 2 games a year and donate the rest back to SU. How is Syracuse going to grow its local fanbase without having some games to suck them back in and then eventually getting full season tickets. I don't care about playing a game in Metlife if we have 6 home games each year, but you can't get that hardcore population up from 25k to 35k to 35k to 45k if you are going to move games that will draw local interest and suck them in to Metlife. SU football's brand isn't as strong locally as SU basketball because non-alumni, diehards don't think its as cool to watch SU football if you give them a winning product which Doug Marrone has started doing and mix in games that will attract casual fans then you will grow the local fanbase. What is so hard to understand about this. Do you think last year's USC-SU game was a success?
