Notre Dame to Pinstripe...

So unless BC can swing a deal with Heart of Dallas which would open up the Independence, we are likely looking at Pizza North or BeefO. I can't imagine the Military not taking MD but stranger things have happened.

So sounds like ND/Houston in the Pinstripe.

The WWL has broadcasting rights to 31 bowl games, and 2 on ABC, the other 2 are Fox-1, CBS-1, so They have a major say who goes where, they are paying all the bills.

Since Penn St joined the Big 10, they no longer are Penn St, the same goes for Nebraska, since they joined they no longer are where they were. Both schools until they joined the Big 10 were always top 10, most times top 5, now neither school has that relevance.

Not sure I follow that train of thought. Penn State went undefeated 2 years after joining the big 10 and shouldve won the natty over Nebraska in 94 and vacated 11 win top 10 seasons in 05, 08, and 09. Nebraska was down prior to joining the Big 10.

Hope ND wins. Will help gate at MetLife game next year. (Not that it matters)

Houston will light them up. O'Korn is the real deal.
Once again, the most over-rated program in the history of college football. Athlon's pre-season prediction, speaking of over-rated, predicted ND to the Orange bowl. LOL!

Nebraska problem is losing coach Osborne not the big 10..

Yeah, in 2008, Penn State was a last second FG against Iowa away from playing in the BCS championship game. I don't think the Big 10 was a bad move for them.

As upperdeck said, Nebraska hasn't been the same since Osborne stopped roaming the sidelines. They've been a regular 4 game loser for the past 12 years or so. Only been in the Big 10 for 3 of those.

Paterno played the wrong QB that year. Went loyalty with an upperclassman instead fo playing the more talented youngster.

Ok, so no Pinstripe for us. Can we have the portions of our life back that involved reading that last Pinstripe Bowl thread?

That's why I only skim bowl prediction threads. No one knows until we all know.

Yeah, once Osborne left and Texas regained relevance, UNL was relegated to second class status. That is what happens when you play one serious game/season (Oklahoma) and could beat up the patsies for 10 wins annually. The Big Eight was generally OU and UNL plus 6. Colorado and OSU made noise periodically but not consistently.

pinstripe sweetened the deal some how to get nd to accept there bowl over poinsettia/Hawaii vs boise st according to nd reporter bria Hamilton who heard that from nd scoot board

"Soon after the regular season ended, it was clear the rabid, deep-pocketed Notre Dame fan base would present ample opportunities for an eight-win team without any bowl tie-ins. One source said there were five viable options, with bowls essentially pitching deals to the Irish to entice their participation.

By Thursday, another source said the Pinstripe Bowl was meeting every demand Notre Dame was making, including per diem allotment, potential opponent and access to the Giants' indoor practice facility in East Rutherford, N.J.

The date was attractive as it will not interfere with Notre Dame's finals schedule. The seniors began to warm to cold-weather New York as a preferred destination, even if some staffers and players were hoping for a long-shot deal with the Hawaii Bowl."

So ND now needs to root for Rutgers to lose. The matchup with Houston would be so much better.

How do you figure? Nebraska was a missed FG away from 3 straight and a 4th down conversion against Texas in 96 from playing for 5 in a row. Those teams were loaded.

Agree with your other point Nebraska hasn't been close to a top 10 team since 2001.

No, they'll want RU. They'd lose to Houston surely, but they'd destroy RU.
