That may have been true at one point - it’s hard to argue it in 2025.  In this case, ND drew an average of 3.9MM viewers this year, Miami drew 3.4MM. They also appear to think they add great value to the ACC which the conference doesn’t value properly.  But they added so much value to the Big East the conference doesn’t exist anymore.  They add a tiny sliver of viewership value that’s can be replaced.  If they’re convinced this whole situation proves they should stay independent, that’s a weird position - they should be figuring out right about now that they don’t add the value to the ACC they think, and that independence may not be an option forever.  It’s somewhat impressive how stubbornly resistant Notre Dame is to hearing that message.
