If they are able to effect plans to take from the ACC what they want, they will be set. ND then will join up as full conference member or else not be allowed in the party. ND may be what it is, that still matters as much as it does, but ND by itself is nothing compared to the BT or SEC. Much less compared to the both acting in concert. Right now, SEC and BT between them hold ALL cards.

ND has 2 cards it can play if it wishes to avoid being in eight the BT (far, far more likely) or SEC. 1 card is for ND football to be a fun member of the ACC,and use that extra ACC power to then maxim the ACC strengths in football. The reboot of that would be a significancy bigger ACC TV deal, which wood make the ACC a permanent Power/Major conference that simply could not ever be cut out of any new Trop Tier. The other card is ND remaining independent in football but helping the ACC act aggrfessiviey to strengthen its football value. That will not increase the ACC's value as much as Card #1 would. but it would stabilize everything involving the ACC, probably enough so that the ACC could lead in creating a new football Top Tier of 4 leagues rather than just 2.
