and have your sweeteners become a little sweeter over the past couple of weeks?

1. All sports to ACC minus football with caveat that ND plays 3 games in the conference
2. ND keeps its NBC contract
--ACC conference pushes ESPN to deal with NBC and make overall contract for
ND and ACC better than present
3. ND can pick up to 3 other teams to bring into ACC
4. ND football choice of any bowl ACC is in except for conference champion

Believe this benefits both ACC and ND...even if not CATHOLIC...i would do this in a NY minute...and based on recent weeks, I would throw in a wife, gf, significant other if i had one of each or just one solely among the listed.

forget notre dame...long term they are a depreciating asset. not worth the hassle.

I like all your suggestions. But if I could make one chage to #4, and have a 9/10 victory minimum for ND to select their bowl.

so is the ACC without them.

Oh Lord

Completely disagree. Last thing the ACC needs is another once great team that has been irrelevant for decades. That's working really well with FSU and Miami.

9 of the last 10 national champs are southern schools.

full trial membership,5year committment, no withdrawl penalty if they do not renew. thats it. i would not insult the other members with anything more. everyone seems to have survived all these years w/o them. a hybrid nd model is useless just ask the big east.

Hmmm ..... ESPN adjusts contract for next 5 years and at the 5 year look-in one would know if the Irish still want in.

Nope. They're either all in, or all out.

I would require ND in for football and allow:

1. ND to bring Navy in for football 16th member.

2. ND to choose whether St Johns or Villanova becomes the 16ht member for basketball (Navy cannot even try that)

3. ND gets to pick which schools it will play annually

4. The football championship game would be moved to the Home field of the team with the highest ranking in the playoffs system, which should help the ACC get a team in the playoff and allow for the possibility of a league championship played in South Bend

5. ND gets scheduling that makes it worthwhile for ND. i.e. - If ND gets to keep playing SoCal annually and games in LA remain Thanksgiving weekend, then the ACC will make Miami ND's partner to mirror that scheduling: when in South Bend, the game is in October (and ND plays at SoCal), and when in Miami, the game is Thanksgiving weekend. Also, as that would mean ND would close every regular season on the Road, the ACC should have ND play a Home game ever year the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I also would have Syracuse agree to play all its Home games vs. ND in Yankee Stadium (or Giants Stadium), which would also prove necessary to Syracuse becoming NYC's team. I would have Dook agree to move its Home games vs. ND to a neutral site.

Trial membership is a good idea.

Of everything I have read, the possible Orange Bowl deal is the only one that sounds semi-palatable. If they join the conference, it's as a full member on equal terms with everyone else.

Add ND. Go to 15 teams... 3 divisions of 5. This allows for an easy 8-game league schedule. Let UND have its (lucrative) non-conference TV deal with NBC. This still allows them to play USC, Navy, Michigan, etc., though some may have to be bi-annual. They get to keep playing BCU & Pitt. An 8-game schedule with 16 seems tougher to arrange.

Highest 2 ranked division winners play for the championship, or go to a 4-team conference playoff.

It's too late to be dreaming of Notre Dame. Didn't you hear? Notre Dame wants into the Big 12. Yep, same Notre Dame that never gave a hint of interest in luring WVU as a partner into the B1G is now drooling over the prospect of joining WVU, Texas Tech and Iowa State in the Big 12. Don't believe me? Read all about it here:

Well, if you could. I forgot about this linkage problem. Too bad. Lots of hugely funny stuff on the Scout WVU board.

Just go on the WV scout board, say you're a kentucky fan and that you own wv and watch the hadfield take on the mccoy.

Syracuse would agree to play ND on a Home-Home-Neutral (Meadowlands) basis for football conference games. Neither team gets an advantage this way (each school gets a similar ticket allotment) and both get their desired NYC presence.
