Notre Dame

couldn't happen to a better bunch of football players

They’d have a much easier schedule in the coastal.

Tbh last night I was just wondering how that team hasn’t lost more last couple of years all things considered because they aren’t good and don’t have that easy a schedule. Ef Taj Harris dropping that perfectly thrown TD pass Devito was great up until then but has been awful since that drop.

On retrospect, does last year’s Notre Dame game play out differently if Dungey doesn’t get hurt? Sure seems like the Irish “Devito” is exactly what we’ve seen in 2019 Devito.

it makes me wonder if we benefited from some type of fool’s gold against Florida State and Carolina.

I know it starts with the OL. But Tommy was solid in those two games. Against Notre Dame and every P5 team this year ... not so much.

Stating the obvious, I know. But just killing time on a flight pondering how we might / could have been 11-2 last year if ED didn’t bow out of that game early.

While I’m at it. I want they Pitt game back too. We were this close to 12-1.

We had no answer for their wide receivers last year and Dungey didn’t play db

No we likely get a score or two but our D couldn’t stop them.

With Dungey, it always felt like there was a chance.

Might have pushed it to a fourth-quarter game, but I don't see a win.

If we didnt drop a first pass TD and a ball fly out of our WR's hands into a ND Defender we dont get routed. It was a team effort. dungey wouldnt have single handedly won the game

some of these stories starting to remind me of the old Bill Brasky Saturday Night Live skits. Dungey was good but we weren’t beating Notre Dame with him in the lineup. His legend continues to grow!

His legend continues to grow because we have seen just how much he made everybody better. Went through his film from last year. Half the plays were him avoiding rush and making something happen, so yea his legend grows and rightly so. Probably would have still lost ND game but would have had a chance.

Exactly. Wouldn’t you have liked to see how that might have played out? Unfortunately, we’ll never know.

What we do know is last year’s game against the Irish looks a lot like most of this year’s games.

Hopefully, that changes on Saturday.
