Saw before yesterday we were given 44% chance to win. I’m guessing that changes today. They sucked last night. Jekyll and Hyde team.

Coaching coaching coaching. ND was pretty damn good last year and all of a sudden they’ve dropped off. Maybe it was the hasty, feel good head coach pick in elevating 36 year old defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman and not getting an experienced coach who understands the rigors of bringing together all the elements of a successful program.

I remember seeing the video of all the ND players cheering Freeman‘s selection. He’s a players’ coach and a damn good recruiter but the jury is out on his game planning/game day coaching. Perhaps shades of the Scott Schaeffer pick on our part. I’m all for continuity but it can be risky. You don’t win these games with charisma and chest bumps. I mean why should they have such a fall off when they’re restocking with 4 and 5 star recruits generally.

Why are we do much improved? Coaching, coaching coaching.

Hope they’re flat as a pancake when we play them. They’ve got an awful lot of talent but right now it’s inexplicably dormant.

Don't think it is coaches as much as recruiting. Kelly left nothing behind. They lost their best WR and no one has filled that spot this year. How does a school like ND have no QBs? Book was a good college QB but he wasn't highly rated. How did they have no one behind him? They are lucky Coan came last season. Buchner and Pyne aren't P5 QBs, might not even be FBS level.

They went from Kelly's in your face demeaning discipline to feel good unaccountability. No Ohana at Notre Dame.

It’s what happens when you let the kids hire the next coach and take the easy way out with continuity because you don’t want to lose kids up front to the portal. ND should have never hired a first time.

people don’t like B kelly but he’s a top 5 coach in college

Yeah it’s up to about 56% on ESPN. Seems a bit low for a 6-0 team against a 3-3 team who lost at home to Marshall and Stanford. UNC was a solid win, the BYU win doesn’t look as good after BYU gave up a zillion points at home to Arkansas yesterday

As much as I hate them, they still scare me because of how big/old/physical they are in the trenches. Add that to what we may look like - especially on D - post NC State and Clemson, and I'm taking nothing for granted.

To lose at home against a 1-4 Stanford though is PA-THETIC.

Reality is there's blood in the water. ND clearly has some problems and they haven't figured out how to overcome them yet.

I always harp on the importance of keeping prominent programs when they're done. This just isn't the beast ND squad we're used to seeing. Still going to be a tough game, but notching a win with the name recognition of Notre Dame would be a big, big deal.

Agree. They are gigantic. Everyone of 'em. They have a few large athletic tight ends that we need to make sure don't catch the ball.

I hate Notre Dame.

And now they ruined a potential Gameday because they suck this year.

Your name should be racist, you forced your coach to convert (ok..maybe not forced), and even when I want to root for you, you fail. 99% of your fans have never even been to South Bend.

Also, Rudy was offsides.

Screw you

YAY Stanford!

If Stanford can win in South Bend, SU can beat them in the Dome.
