This is a massive assumption and wrong. This roster is not constructed like a mid major. It’s constructed to build an entire team not just a couple names. You have to win before you are going to be contending for titles. People get hung up on a couple players meaning everything. You need a foundation to start with that builds an identity and then you stack on top of the that momentum. This philosophy of how the roster is being built is consistent with how plenty of other successful programs are run. Clemson and UVA very much use a similar approach and it works very well. I don’t expect us to avoid big splashes every year in fact this may be the only year needed to build this way. It’s just not flashy. Too many are comparing our off season to top 10 programs instead and by not hitting the portal in the same manner the immediately claiming we are destined for failure. In reality we are right in the pack with the rest of the top 30-40 programs with how we are attacking this off season. The X factor will be in talent evaluation, coaching and development.
