My personal opinion is that Jerry has exactly who he wants for point guard and Dual was promised the starting position.  Therefore, a backup point guard is not a priority now, but he will eventually get the best possible player he can get that understands their role will be to be a backup, who has a chance to earn more minutes if he is good enough.  That could be a fifth year senior, or someone who’s pretty good who did not find the landing spot they wanted, and so was willing to come here, knowing they’re not going to be the starter.  Or it may be a very good Freshman or Sophomore who feels they could be the starter next year .  That may take a little time to shake out.

(wing is different, Doty committed, knowing Anthony was still here, Tobiason committed knowing both were here, and MMM committed, knowing all three were here.  So it seems that Gerry will be content to see how wing players shake out, and no one was promised anything there, more than an opportunity to compete, so those spots were filled more quickly).

Folefac took longer because it was known that if he was coming here he was coming to be the backup, so he also explored starting position opportunities.  Backup point guard should have the same dynamic.
