I don't think Gotdweeb is getting nearly enough heat for having the ego size to actually put his name out there for D1 head coaching positions. Shouldn't a guy who hasn't coached in his life and has been a professional troll / TV/Radio personality / analyst for the last 15 years start with...I don't know...an assistant coach position first?

Exactly. Compare what he is doing to what Hubert Davis has done. On the one hand, you have an ass clown who is expanding his shtick to include embarrassing the profession that he follows and reports on by purporting that he is as qualified as any of them, and on the other hand you now have a former NBAer who is probably ready to succeed in any HC job after quietly leaving the studio to earn some credibility. It's almost too easy. You can just sit back and wait for Doug to embarrass himself in perpetuity, the joke writes itself.

Hey, THREE Republican presidential candidates this cycle had zero experience in government, and one of them is leading the pack. At least Gottlieb, though I am not fond of him at all, has some relevant experience for the job.

Although I agree with the Nunes article that I would watch Tulane with much interest if he was head coach, and probably LMAO most of the time. Even so, a lack of experience for a coaching job isn't on par with lack of experience for the job of POTUS.

Nunes has jumped the shark. I had to unfollow on twitter and facebook, and rarely ever check his blog anymore. He was great when he first came up through the ranks, but now it's like he tries too hard. He reminds me of the evolution of Bill Simmons. A guy who I used to love, but then got famous (well, as much as a college team blogger can get famous) and now tries to hard but isnt funny.
