Angeli’s QB rating for the season through the Clemson game (79) would have placed him at the top of the conference alongside Carson Beck and CJ Bailey. 2.) Every program plays cupcakes early on in the season and gets to pad their stats. Complaining about 4th quarter stat padding vs Colgate is more cherry-picking.

3.) UConn isn’t really even a cupcake. They had a decent season, made a bowl game, and their coach got poached by another program.

4.) Angeli improved every week, proved that he could run Nixon’s pass heavy offense, and showed himself capable of being a solid successor to McCord.

5.) I’ll acknowledge that Angeli is probably not as good as McCord and that his Achilles injury (especially the potential year long recovery) would give potential suitors pause about poaching him with a high dollar figure NIL.
