Still hoping Roki can be signed but at this point, the rotation appears to be done.  I think all that is needed for pitching is to add a left handed reliever.  Tanner Scott would be nice but probably is not in the cards.

The only remaining big objective on the hitter side is to solve the problem of how to fill the empty spot at 1B.  At this point, it looks like it is going to be the Polar Bear returning or Bregman.  If Bregman comes, Vientos would move to first.

Sounds like the cost would be about the same for both.

I am guessing the Mets sign Bregman.  I think Stearns values defense and he is a gold glover.  Would give the Mets better defense at 3B and even in his first year at 1B, I suspect Vientos would be better than Pete.

That said, it would be sad to see Pete go.  Glad this is not my decision to make.
