NYC Denizens and travelers. I will be flying out of

mid-town early the Sunday after BET. I havent flown inor out of NYC in a long time. Is it fastest to get to Newark or JFK. My sense is go to Penn station and take the train t Newark. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I live not too far from Newark, and for all of Jersey's annoyances, Newark is a pleasure!
Easy in, easy out. LGA and JFK, not so much.

Well, although it's really easy to get in and out of (right off highway by Shea, again, used to live there, born and raised) delays are god awful and always seem to be inline with JFK's delays.
Still though, would prefer it over JFK, which, when you go via the Van Wyck....

The rule of thumb is Uptown, the Bronx, Westchester, and parts of queens use Lagurdia. Brooklyn, parts of queens and most of long Island use JFK and Midtown, Downtown and Jersey use Newark.

EWR has a train station there. You can hop a commuter train right from Penn Station.
