However, if this board wants Syracuse to begin hauling in a regular catch of 4-star athletes (and an occasional 5-star) New York State/NYC isn't going to be the place to focus on. Most 4-star + recruits are found south of the 39th parallel. Recruiting services focus their efforts down there because that's where football is religion and that's where fans will gladly fork over money to subscribe to recruiting websites, etc. So looking at 2015, for example, you have Tyrone Wheatley and...nobody else...listed as a Rivals 250 prospect. And over at the Scout 300 you have...Tyrone Wheatley. There will be more 4-stars in the future, of course, and some of the current 4-stars will be bumped up a notch. When they verbal to Bama or Texas or FSU...or even Ole Miss. All I'm saying is I wouldn't expend too much energy worrying about missing out on a top recruit from the Boroughs.
