Corrected: 15th-Seeded Lehigh Upsets Duke in N.C.A.A. Tournament

C.J. McCollum scored 30 points and Lehigh upset Duke 75-70 on Friday night in the second round of the N.C.A.A. men’s basketball tournament.

Lehigh became the sixth 15th-seeded team ever to beat a No. 2. But it was the second on Friday — Norfolk State pulled off the trick against Missouri earlier in the day.

Correction: An earlier news alert said incorrectly that Norfolk State beat Syracuse, rather than Missouri.

On Friday, ESPN radio reported that our win over UNC-A was the closest win of a #1 over a #16 in tournament history. So the NYT has company in their wrongness.

They repeated that about six times on Saturday that I heard.

ESPN is really good at making up inaccurate facts. Gotta give them credit, they never retract...they just repeat it over and over again. Its like mgt at ESPN wants to test out the old Goebbels quote that if they repeat a lie often enough, it'll become the truth.

Valvano's brother said that Loiusville had beaten us 7 out of the last 8 times and totally has our number.

Tim Welsh God bless him said that we had beaten Loiusville twice this year and that this years team is not the same as those beaten in the past.

It's nice to have at least a few supporters in the media out there..
