I’m curious if there will be any offensive adjustments until the line solidifies. I remember a number of years back when we played Rutgers that they usea six OL player to give depth to a poor ol. They designated him a te but he was used to add size to the line.

I could see us do the same thing with elmore or another OL player to add depth. It would take away offensive weapons. However if TD does not have time to throw it does not matter how many skill players we have on offense.

Elmore could protect TD in pass plays or a lead blocker on run plays. With his size he would be able to take on a DL straight up unlike a RB.

Lol that’s pretty much what we did all of last year , we max protected a lot 7 guys blocking leaving only 3 guys vs 7 sometimes 8 defenders . One key will be if they play man press against us can we shed the press quickly to get the ball out fast or let a route develop

Is there anyone that has broken down film of Gilbert's previous teams? Any idea how things could look different this year with him running the offense?

I know we used a tight end and rb to assist with blocking. I was curious if they would use an extra ol (bigger then a typical te) or Elmore on every down.

I haven't broken him down but remember watching that Texas team he OC'd with true frosh Shane Buchele at QB. I distinctly remember being amazed at how aggressive that offense was. Unless they had five in the box they were throwing it and they went hard vertical anywhere there was a seam. There was some quick game stuff when they could isolate the slot or read blitz but for the most part it was go fast, get vertical, and attack.

That is why I would like to see Jordan in the slot. He has moves, and can make people miss. If you miss him, it's a TD.

I agree but they like the slot guys they have right now

I really liked Pena’s high school film but most of it shows him at running back. I love the open field speed though. Interesting to watch him transition to receiver.

I like his film as well. Wonder if he moves back to RB

It's a little easier to get him the ball a RB, however.

One thing I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Jordan last year was how strong and tough runner he was for his size. While his speed and agility are his calling card, he's also willing to play physical. If we can block and give him at least a crack, I like our chances.

Yeah. I think I remember a TD run where he broke some tackles to get there. He's more than just speed.

Running Back, slot receiver -- whatever. Line him up wherever, force the defense to match up, and just get him the ball in space and let him make plays. Seems like a faster Erv Philips to me [right down to the physical measurements].

I know it sounds crazy, but I believe he can be our Reggie Bush.

I like that For his size he isnt just an around the perimeter runner and is very good at inside runs as well. But he needs to add some more weight to reduce his likelihood of injury before I’d say he fits the Reggie Busch mold.

Pfft, Reggie Bush fits Jordan's mold.

I think he's stronger too. I'd like to see him line up in multiple spots so teams get confused, if he can handle multiple assignments.
