He did take Virginia to the Elite 8 by beating a pretty solid Kansas team in '95. He would have remained at Virginia but for some bad recruiting decisions and poor personal choices in his life. He rebounded well by doing a nice job at American University (which doesn't award athletic scholarships), and he has been pretty successful at ODU.
