First, if you have kids that are into sports and Cuse this event as it was put on this year is a must. Double if your a season ticket holder. It was a well run event that moved very well despite the brief shower. Everyone was extremely inviting that worked the event. My day in a bunch of unrelated sentences. They had uniforms and helmets for the kids to try on. I got to throw a football in the IPF with my boys. A few in the dirt and a few on the money. Kicked a FG from the 10 yard line fwiw. Kids kicked soccer balls with the women's soccer team and at their goalie. Brought one son to the bouncy houses and then we all met and grabbed a pic with Floyd Little who was walking around the event. Had a 44 jersey on at the time. That guy is great for the program. Walked by Robert Drummond and his son on way to BBQ which was free if you have season tick. Food was good enough and you could have ample portions and soda. No beer served on premises. The staff passing out water bottles to people waiting in line was a nice touch as it was humid at times. Within 5 minutes of sitting down at our table to eat and the AD taps me on shoulder and introduces self to me and my group. Was unexpected. He's a guy that's hard not to like. Said he wants a strong local fanbase. It's real early but I hope we struck gold with this guy. Got rained on a bit but stuck it out. Watched about half of mens soccer game that was an exhibition with Georgetown. The game seemed to be played at a high level. Didn't make it to the woman's field hockey as there was to much to do at times. Watched the scrimmage from bleachers as it gave better perspective to the field. I'll let others discuss the football aspect of it as that's not the purpose of my post. After game we were allowed full field access with the whole team and staff and every player was made available to fans and their children. My kids absolutely loved it. I had a pic with my boys and HCSS and exchanged a few words briefly. I told him I loved how he talked about character and preached hard work and responsibility. He was very gracious and thankful to the fans. My boys got alot of good pics with players who were all warm and welcoming. Met to many to name them all. Made sure to meet DL Clark who was extremely polite. At the end they took a group pic in the middle of the field with all the kids and the whole team. It was a great photo op. I've gone on long enough and probably way to much detail but really want all that are in driving distance to understand what a fun day this is for fans of all ages. Everyone should go to Fanfest if this is how its going to be run and you have the opportunity. Heard from some fans that had been to prior Fanfest that this one was done very well. Kudos to the program and University for putting on a fine event. Got me psyched up and ready for the season. I am really happy I went. My first one and it was a success. Go Cuse!
