Watching the end of Villanova at Butler; Nova is winning by 10+ pts. with 5 minute to go and they stop action to review the previous play to see if a flagrant foul should be assessed when no whistle was blown, no foul assessed, until the one was blown to start the review process.

How do you have a rule, where no foul is called, there is no stoppage in play a few seconds go off the clock and then they stop the game to review the previous play??? What!!

Didn't see the play but I understand the reasoning behind this. Say a player punches a player on the other team and it isn't spotted by the refs like with Buddy a few years ago. I'm all in favor of taking a look at that.

Maybe the player who was fouled didn’t say anything, b/c ya know, snitches get stitches, amirite?

If Nova loses the challenge, they’re charged a timeout, so it’s no different than if they just called a timeout.

I assume that if they win the challenge and a foul is assessed retroactively, they reset the clock to whatever it was when the foul occurred.

Nova had possession when they called for the challenge, right?
