I realize a lot of people really dislike the B1G on this board and especially OSU, but if anything else I hope SU can somehow tap into that high school talent stream coming out of that state. I grew up next door to Ohio as a Hoosier about 60 miles from Cincy and pretty close to Oxford (Miami of Ohio, aka The Craddle of Coaches), and for as long as I can remember Ohio has been a hot bed for football talent.

Also, if you look across the college football coaching landscape I think you see a whole lot of successful coaches who grew up in Ohio. Urban Meyer is just one more example, and Meyer may end up being the most successful college football coach of all time. But then again, maybe Nick Saban will? I think Saban grew up in West Virginia which would be pretty close to the Ohio river valley. And then of course now we have Jim Harbaugh to follow. Jim was born in Toledo. Good stuff!

I know a lot of people who feel that way. I even have a friend I grew up with who back in the day loved Cincy, but now he hates the entire state. Several years ago he moved down south, and now he loves the SEC and hates Ohio.

Personally, I've been living in NYC for about 2 decades now, and I no longer feel those regional rivalries as much. NYC is in some ways cut off from that sort of thing, but I remember feeling those rivalries very deeply growing up as a Hoosier. I hated Kentucky!

Heck,

Heck that is a great idea. Michigan has been poaching players from Ohio for years. Usually their best players, but what else could they do ? Rely on the weak talent from their own High Schools ? There are plenty of solid Ohio players to go around, just look at any roster in the B1G and you will see that. SU got that tailback from Struthers, OH a few years ago and he was a solid back.

Assistant OC / OL coach from OSU should be our next HC if SS fails

He coached at OSU / ND / Army among others

DC3 and PTG are both from Akron.
