There used to be more animal shows, more places to sit down near the Midway for people to take a break. The restaurant row of food stands was less expensive, and maybe it's just me, but I think the food was better quality. Some of the buildings were interesting. At one time, the Center of Progress Building wasn't just pure hucksters. My mom once bought a stainless steel cook set in the 1970s at the Fair that I still have today, and is still in great shape, 50 years later.
