I know the game is almost over, 30 seconds left FYI, but Brandon Paul has been beyond insane tonight.

74-70 Illinois right now.

Just an amazing performance.

Brandon Paul- that's probably the performance of the year in college basketball thus far. His last 3 was insane.

OSU still hasn't proven they can win on the road. Their only road wins are vs two bad teams: South Carolina and Iowa.

I wonder how many charges Fab would try to take against Sullinger. Almost every post move he makes involves lowering the shoulder hard into the defender.

I had my post open waiting for the final line...

But Mr. Morris saw enough of Ohio State four weeks ago to know they should be ranked #1.

. . . . .but they have a higher ceiling than SU! The 3 loses mean nothing! (tongue in cheek)

why should it count against the Buckeyes? After all it was a road game, we all know how hard it is to win on the road against anyone (unless you are SU and you need to face a frightening road game to have it count) and they lost because a guy had a career game. All of which means it is perfectly reasonable to write that one off.

Great game to watch last night... I love college basketball and watch as much as I can... Interesting stat last night. Coming out of halftime I am pretty sure the announcers said that so far in the game there were no bench points on either team. Seems like a crazy idea seeing what our team does night in and night out. Go CUSE

I still don't understand why people continue to make excuses for Ohio State each time they lose.

Against Kansas: Shouldn't count because they didn't have Sullinger
Against Indiana: IU already beat UK and it's a tough environment to play in
Against Illinois: A guy had a career game

Fact of the matter is, they LOST all 3 games. On the road. Great teams find a way to win on the road in spite of the circumstances. We were without a key reserve in Providence and our bigs were in serious foul troublem, causing us to go with a small lineup. We pulled out the win by double digits against the same team that just spanked Louisville by 30. Not saying Baye is anything like Sullinger, but we were still in serious trouble in Providence and got the W.

And the career game? Yeah it happens. But why didn't Matta try to shut him down after his 5th or 6th 3-pointer? Where was the defensive adjustment?

Of course, I agree that Ohio State is extremely talented and might very well be in the Final 4 come March/April. But for now, they have 3 losses. Plain and simple. There should be no excuses for them anymore.

I thought the same thing. Very bizzare.

They said the same thing at the end of the game as well, or close to it.

As for Ohio State, you really want to compare Providence to any of the teams they've lost to? Illinois is the worst team they lost to, and Illinois, while not anyone's idea of an elite team, is a pretty decent team. They're probably going to make the tournament.

I'm not saying they are the best team in the country, i'm not saying they aren't, but they've lost road games to 2 very good teams, and one pretty good team.

As for excuses, I think playing at a really good team without one of the best players in the country is a pretty decent excuse for a loss. I remember reading a lot of stuff about how we lost to Pitt without KJ last year.

Wait, I thought guys only hit tons of 3's against the zone defense??? Man-to-man easily shuts that down, right?

Ha, th at was my thought last night too. Other teams get lit up with random 3 point outbursts? Thought it was just us, cause we play zone.

Regarding OSU and how far they will drop in rankings: they play in the Big10 and the media has dubbed the Big10 the best bball conference in the country ... so losing a road game in the B10 is not going to look bad to the OSU believers.
