We still have a game to go and I expect to do a lengthy post about the season as a whole but I will offer this: BC may turn out to be our most natural rival here, since they are in our division and a traditional northeastern rival from the days before the Big East. I suspect that's why it was set up as our last game. But I think we could get something brewing with Louisville as well, as a carry-over from basketball. If we can get back to where we were in football in the 90's, we will be similar to Louisville and Clemson, (but not on the level of Florida State). Clemson has it's own set of rivals but things are wide open with the Cardinals. I hate large conferences, though. I look at the Coastal Division almost as a another conference. I guess there's no divisional set up in basketball. We will rival Duke and UNC for the conference title but they will continue to be each other's main rivals. Again, I feel Louisville will be our big rival. I suspect Pitt will struggle in the ACC where their rough stuff will not be permitted, especially under the new emphasis in officiating. What i'd really love is north-south divisions. A northern division would look m ore like the old Big East than the Big East does. But the football people want a game in Florida each year.
