I'm hoping this post will be a little better than my last few, which admittedly were awful. I was dropped as a child...:bat:

Regarding the upcoming Florida game. Florida will bring a guard oriented team to the Dome and they like to push the ball and jack up 3s. I think we’ll need to extend the zone to make them try to play in the paint where we should have a huge advantage. This looks like a very small team to me but we can't underestimate them, they are very good. Will Billy Donovan try to slow it down like everyone else has? My prediction, ‘Cuse 83 – Gators 73.

Here’s a look at their best players:

Bradley Beal: 6’3” Fr G - Averaging 32min per game with 49% fg avg and 28% from 3pt range. 2011 Gatorade National HS Player of the year. 1.8 assists and 16 ppg. A great Freshman!

Kenny Boynton: 6’2” Jr G – Averaging 28min per game with 53% fg avg and deadly this year from 3pt range, 51% on 19 of 37. But his freshman and Jr years he wasn’t as accurate from 3 (Fr29% and Jr 33%) 3 assists and 19.6 ppg.

Erving Walker: 5’8” Sr PG – Averaging 27min per game with 43% fg avg and is 38% career from 3 pt range 5.2 assists and 12.2 ppg.

Patric Young: 6’9” So /C – Averaging 26min per game with 51% fg avg, 8.6reb and 10.4ppg. Patric is a beast down low, hope he gets into foul trouble early.

Eric Murphy: 6’10” Jr C – The Gators best big guy well very likely not play due to a torn meniscus. 10ppg and 4 reb.

Will Yeguete: 6’7” So – Will play in place of Murphy. Very little experience but had a double/double against Stetson 11reb and 10 points. Player is from France.

Mike Rosario: 6’3” Jr G – Transfer from Rutgers. Averaging 20min per game with 54% fg avg and 54% (15 of 28) from 3 pt range but he only shot 31% from three in two years at Rutgers.

Scottie Wilbeken: 6’2” G – Averaging 17min per game with 33% fg avg, 1.8reb, 2.4 assists and 2.6ppg. I Can’t imagine him being much of a factor. Not sure how he gets 17min with all the other guards on this team.

Gosh, for all the Ray Allen comparisons, Beal's 3-point shooting % is more like a Mookie Jones half-blood.

Will UF play a 4 guard lineup?

I think at times they will, they really only have two big guys that have done anything this year, Young and Murphy (who will not play). Yeguete will have to play and like I said he had a double/double against Stetson but not sure that makes him a good player or not. Patric Young is a beast though and I think he'll be our biggest problem outside of raining 3s.
