We are different than the team that struggled through the regular season.

What is different ?

1. Roberson has come to play with relentless energy. Coach has found his button.

2. Lydon has become a shot blocker supreme.

3. Cooney is slashing and dashing to the hole and not hoisting up those low percentage treys off of curls. He is playing within himself. Not to mention his D hustle.

4. Jimmy has has been dead on with is coaching.

However, if we are to take home the title we still need to lift it up another notch. Where will that improvement come from ?

1. G is our leader and he has been solid, but in actuality he hasn't played as well this tourney as he did for most of the regular season. He needs to step it back up.

2. Malachi has been the hero for two halves. However, the other six halves he hasn't done much. He needs to find two games of consistency.

3. Though I do not want him to stop playing within himself, can Trevor still do that and also get on one of those streaks where he nails four or five treys in a game ?

All in all, the potential to get better is there, but the margin for error is low.

For me it's #3; Cooney looks unbelievablely natural driving to the basket, threes are an afterthought right now...
Add - Ice water free throw shooting by the entire team...

I can understand Roberson's rebounding, but the Free Throw Shooting? That's been a huge surprise.

Trevor looks like Brandon Triche out there.

Lydon? A three point shooting center that blocks shots? Crazy

JB seems to have adjusted in his old age. Remember in 2005 when he sat in the zone against Vermont and we never pressured the ball?

I'm stunned.

Boeheim is the same coach as when we were down 16 with 9 min to go. What was different is players stepped up and made plays - same as against Gonzaga - and no one has any control over that except the players. All the coach can do is put players in position to do those things, and this time they did. What else you gonna do? That's why we play the games. :)

Our bigs are playing better across the board. That takes pressure off the rest of the guys.

Lydon seems to have figured out something Christmas never quite did, that you can't block every shot. More importantly, he seems to know when to just stay straight up, and which shot he has a chance to get. And even when he doesn't get the ball, he doesn't often pick up useless fouls.
