Okie or no Okie?

It will be interesting to see if we go 3-4 in passing situations or Okie. Normally we have Thomas and Wilkes in at S. With Thomas gone we would have to play Desir there now. Does the staff trust him enough? Personally I rather take a shot with Desir back there than go Shamarko at SS in a 3-4, since he is not a good cover guy anyway.

When both Fisher and Shamarko were out, Phil played SS and Wilkes played FS. Shouldn't be a big adjustment.

In the Okie we play 4 Safeties. So we either have to play Desir/Scott at S or reduce it to 3 S's. I rather play Desir or Scott at S than Shamarko since he is poor at pass coverage and is a weapon near the LOS.

Still not sure why they ever moved Tull from safety. We've got bigger corners in Lyn and Anderson so potentially could slide one as well. Will be interesting to see what they come up with otherwise it'll be James Jarrett time.

And he was a linebacker here. I remember specifically when they moved him to RB. It was the end of spring semester and I asked a drunk offensive player about it. I was surprised about the move because we only had 7 other scholarship linebackers, including two non-enrolled freshmen.

You're correct, I'm saying I was surprised they moved him to LB when he first got here. Curious the offensive players take on the move though. Seems like he'll be buried on the depth chart forever at this point.

It is a package that Shafer uses that usually has the below personnel. Pretty much show a 7 man front and can bring any number of those 7 on the play.

If you take out Phil Thomas you need to put in another guy who can play FS. Or just not use the package entirely. The candidates IMO are Scott and Desir. I wouldn't like Shamarko playing the FS. I don't think he can handle it. Which means we may go back to the 3-4 we used when Fisher and Shamarko were hurt.

I would think though that Fisher would be in over Anene. Probably Diabate at ILB as well. However with this package we usually show a three man rush and drop the 4 LBs into a zone. We are a lot more conservative with this package.
