Stephen Bailey @Stephen_Bailey1 27m27 minutes ago Updates on Syracuse OL commits Cody Conway and Andrejas Duerig: http://bit.ly/1CmrzYe Cody Conway Conway wrapped up a successful senior season at Plainfield (Ill.) North High School on an individual level with invitations to the NUC All-American Game and Blue-Grey All-American Bowl. While he was unable to attend either due to time conflicts, Conway said they reinforced the confidence he had in his performance. "My senior year went pretty well," Conway said. "Team wise we didn't do what we wanted, but individually I accomplished a lot of the goals I wanted to." From a technical standpoint, Conway said he emphasized footwork, hand placement and getting back into his pass drops quickly during his senior season. While he expects to redshirt as a true freshman at Syracuse, like almost all linemen do, he's already set a collegiate goal for himself: play in his redshirt freshman season. And one factor that could play to Conway's favor is SU offensive coordinator Tim Lester's soon-to-be implemented offense. "He said it kind of fit my style," Conway said. "He said I have a little bit more speed than different offensive tackles." Conway said that will help him on pulling plays, as well as rollouts and running plays designed for him to attack the second level. Currently, he's trying to build on that speed, as well as his overall conditioning, during basketball season. From a strength perspective, Conway said he lifts every day but game days and the day before game days. After the basketball season ends, he'd like to work his bench press over 300 pounds.
