And it certainly wasn't warranted as a reaction to Cruz being recruited / committing.  Don't take my word for it -- I invite anyone who is unconvinced to read what Sutomact and Money3189, two of the most knowledgeable posters on this forum with respect to high school football recruits, have to say about Cruz and his potential.

Now, if people want to gripe about:

...they'll get no argument from me on any of the above.  At no point in any post I've made did I tell anyone to blindly trust the coaching staff -- there was ZERO kool-aid being peddled from me.

But all of the hysteria about the class is overblown.  The players we've landed to date have P5 offers, many of them impressive lists of high major programs.  Cruz does not at this point, [U]today[/U] -- but there are reasons for that, which have been repeatedly elucidated in this thread.  And the offers he has today could look completely different if other schools toss their hat into the ring when they see him finally play this fall, which is what I'd expect.  When the dust settles, I'm certain that he'll be at minimum a high 3-star with numerous P% offers, which should quell concerns on both fronts.
