I get everyone's points. Again this discussion started with the comment "True freshman starting on the oline at any P4 school would be a complete shock". I disagree with that comment. I subsequently shared from a Google search that freshman started on the oline at numerous colleges in 24 and referenced some of them. I understand the challenges associated to start for Stewart. I am just stating both #1 and #2 centers are gone. Our 3rd string center who I don't believe saw any game action (Hornsby) and Stewart are basically our current centers on the team. Stewart played center in high school in PA andis in the state's all star game so clearly he can ball. He is physically capable to start at a P4. He would need to learn scheme and calls. Is he going into the summer as our #1? No probably not. Could he move to #1 by end of camp. Absolutely and based on the above it's not uncommon nor a stretch, especially given our numbers at that position. Simply freshman start on the oline in all the leagues and likely every year. Given circumstances at Syracuse and what Stewart brings I can absolutely see him earn starting snaps.
