A freshman at Independence High School has picked up two offers from American Athletic Conference schools before even playing a varsity game.
Nori White is a 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive lineman.
On Wednesday evening, White received his first offer from East Carolina University. An hour later, the Charlotte 49ers extended an offer.
White is also a basketball player, so he's athletic for his size.
White should be an instant contributor to a varsity Patriots squad that is coming off of an impressive 2022 season.
Independence finished last fall with an 11-2 overall record. The Patriots fell to Grimsley in the third round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 4A state playoffs.
The Patriots will kick off their season against Mallard Creek on Thursday night at Charlotte's American Legion Memorial Stadium.
