Unless I missed it I’m surprised it wasn’t discussed more. HUGE move. I think it’s what they wanted all along but Carlos was struggling to snap accurately. Boy he sure did it well enough yesterday. Line played great. Servais and Vettorello’s body types are finally in the right positions. Excited to see how it works out for the last two games.

I was going to start a thread on this but will reply to you.

Let's get all the caveats out of the way. We were ahead on the scoreboard and, therefore, ahead of the sticks. That helps an oline immensely. It was a sample size of one.

Having said that, the Duke Dline is the strength of their D. And we ran the ball for 286 yards and averaged almost 7 YPC. We gave up one sack and had no false starts (the lone false start was on a WR).

Our last two drives, we ran the ball 10 times for 137 yards and 2 TDs...we did not throw a single pass.

If we can replicate that against the Ville and Wake, we could go bowling this year after all. Who woulda thunk that? Not I.

This could be reminiscent of 2012 when we were 1-3, Pugh returned to the lineup and we went 7-2 the rest of the way.

I am loathe to criticize coaches. I don't watch practice every day.

BUT, unless Vettorello was Knoblauching the snaps, we were one of the worst Olines in D1. How much worse could we have been if he was airmailing snaps over Devito's head? He!!, go under center.

If we end up closing the season with 3 wins, I'll be thrilled but I'll also have to wonder what if Bergeron had been inserted earlier and Servais and Vettorello had swapped positions...

I never understood the problem with snapping shotgun. I could do it with ease but my oline coach a center in college so he told me to hit the same spot on my leg over and over as u step forward and throw first hand. Our center got hurt and bam I was center rest of year. At this level it’s way harder and vet looked good on all but one. He may turn into a stud there.
