Guys who are used to kids with several offers, would say to you take the offer and secure a spot. I'm still new at this, but I would say that there are generally 4 rounds of offers made. Round 1, the teams identify their guys that they really love early in the process and offers are made before the start of the summer camp session. For lack of a better way to say it, these are the guys who blossom early and are the most wanted by a school. Round 2, during camp/directly following camp season - This is the group of kids schools either didn't know about, or needed further information on to determine they wanted them (how big are they really? how fast are they? are they coachable? did that make big steps since the end of seasons?) These kids can easily vault into the most wanted category. Round 3 , first few weeks of the senior season - these are the kids the school didn't know existed, or were kids sitting behind somebody else in the past and are now making a name for themselves. Also this is probably the time staffs start to develop "backup lists" for the players that they like, but do not love. Some offers are starting to be made to those kids as the "elite" kids start committing elsewhere. Round 4, last dash - Recruiting cycle is almost over, you need a few additional bodies and this is usually where the "undiscovered" talent and sleeper prospects get offers, as teams try to make sure they fill their class and they probably put out a considerable amount of conditional offers at this point to cover their bases. I would also say sometime between rounds 3 and 4 offers start going out to the kids with academic issues that have a shot at qualifying.
