I was around for the end of P and then GRob era.

I'm having a hard time remembering those teams being as bad on special teams as this year's team. Have you guys seen a worse performance? Whether it be penalties, fumbles, blocks, lack of explosive returns, missed FGs, shanked punts.

Yes, we blocked a punt last week which was awesome. Thought we might have turned the corner there but clearly there are STILL issues with 3 games left. So frustrating.

My glasses are as orange-tinted as you can get, but yes ST's is a nightmare. Plain and simple. Will be addressed in the offseason with a new, full-time ST's coach.

And the correct hire could be big in more ways than one.

i grew up rooting for cuse in 90's and rememeber the special teams being a distinctive advantage between blocks, great kickers and unreal returners year after year (spotwood, ismail, johnson, harrison etc)

well ... not 100% on specials today although they did contribute

I can't remember so many bad things on specials as this year. We get no returns. We turn the ball over. We miss kicks, shank punts, have blocks. Not all the time but a couple of /ups per game, which is enough to make a big difference in the close games we play.

Sure wasn't but that wasn't my point. Special teams mistakes have been consistent all season long.
