This has been going on forever.

Hopefully, our good half is better than our bad half is bad.

Meh, we just coasted the second half. We came out coasting, they cut the lead, team responds by stepping on the gas again, and then coasting until the end.

Live by the jumper die by the jumper... We need Roberson and Coleman to finish their bunnies from 2 feet out and some of the variability will go away.

Can't make them all but we left 10 points on the floor by missing so many.

It's not just the misses it's how badly they miss. Coleman in particular seems to be the king of slamming the ball of the backboard on a 2 foot bunny. It's amazing how little touch he seems to have. Roberson has the exact opposite problem... Goes up too soft.

It isn't JB's MO to run the score up, when he has players that need game time. He used the 2nd half to give them some game time, and gave them some rope. I'm sure he would say that it doesn't matter if you win by 2 or 22, it is still a win.

They could have won by 25 plus, but then people on here would be complaining about the lack of PT for Joseph, Howard & Obokoh.

This may not be the game to complain --we have two more games to play in two days, and there is a point to conserving energy --but last year we never put two good halves together, and we haven't done it this year, yet.

Unless they start assigning half a win for winning each half I don't give a crap.

And it's not like this phenomenon is unique to SU.

Delmar, from the looks of it Charlotte put on a bad first half and a pretty good second half. They actually looked quite solid for a large number of possessions. We were in control and other players got some run.

I figure DC should have made 2 more, Roberson 2, and Cooney that fast break layup. That's 10 points.

Did Howard play in the second half? We only seemed to be getting minutes for Joseph in the second half.

I think that college teams that have a first half like we did struggle to bring the same intensity in the second half. It doesn't matter what the coaches say at halftime--it is human nature to ease off a bit.

We also missed a couple of easy shots to start the game.

The most important thing to me was that even after Charlotte made their big run at the start of the 2nd half, we woke up and stretched it right back out to the same halftime margin [well, 22 instead of 23].
Also, this was the first game in a three-game tournament, so JB got some guys minutes in the second half. That cut into our ability to pour it on.

Today's game was fine. In the first two games, we struggled to get out of the 50s. We had 50 at halftime today.

Really? You expected a second half like this first?

Needing A better half than losing 43-33 is probably pretty common thought against such poor competition. Charlotte may be the worst team on our schedule this year. Definitely the worst team we've played so far.

We had a 23 pt lead. Losing the second half is no big deal. If we needed a better second half, we would have got one.

Basketball is about runs, very few games go from 23 point leads to 40, unless you just have something wacky happen, we were in complete control the whole game.

Wrong.

Charlotte MAY be the worst team on our schedule can't technically be a wrong statement.

That being said - they are probably the only team to have a worst resume than Gtown right now.

Not sure how measurable it'll be, but I'm pretty sure Colgate, Cornell, mont st and Tex southern will all end up being worse than Charlotte

Duke came out very listless against Yale at Cameron and Yale may have had a halftime lead. Of course, Duke won the second half.
