One Idea To Get More Fans This Fall

Place is sold out - would love to have a crowd like this for football

Host a Monster Truck Jam at halftime:)

They are expecting 35k+ at the Dome tonight. The roads will be jammed coming from Fulton, Oswego, and Pulaski.

Other ideas:

Skoal Night. Free tobacco tin for every paying customer.
Bill Engvall/Jeff Foxworthy/Larry the Cable Guy comedy show at halftime.
Shotgun Night. Bring your own ammo.

Its interesting but no way they can get the "field"ready for that. Getting that many rednecks into the Dome for their first ever game would be an interesting treat for them. they need something to get the citizens of this state to bring themselves and their family to the Dome for fun and memorable moments. If they are really lucky they might even see a win.:rolling:

A better idea would be to just win. And perhaps to play a little more exciting style. But on second thought the monster truck rally would probably work.

Well, if winning and excitement can't be produced by Marrone (and I gather from your post you are conceding they can't be), SU should give up all home games and have Monster trucks, wrestling, or whatever else will pay the bills. I bet that if they brought a European Premier League soccer club to the Dome, it would sell out.

I don't know why some people feel the need to be derisive toward others based on how they spend their entertainment dollars. Not everyone enjoys basketball, football, baseball, theatre, movies, opera, symphonysome people find those things too be boring. People who attend stuff like Monster Truck events have just as much right to enjoy what they like as anyone else.
By the way, motor sports in Oswego has a long history of vey good fan support. The Oswego speedway is usually jammed for each racing event. ( not my cup of tea, but so what).

Agreed, kinda. I almost understand people liking cars go around an oval at high speeds - almost. But I SO don't get the monster truck thing.

Check the picture below. They had the first 10+ rows of the bottom level blocked off around the entire dome...just in case one of the trucks went careening out of control into the stands.

But if those seats were open and available for use, I firmly believe they would have been sold.

Nodoubt. Nut jobs take chances sane people would not. Look at the seating in NASCAR Packed right up to the rails. The fact that these bouncing monsters can get out out control at any moment only adds to their beer buzz. Effn insane. But in my mind its better that ultimate human fighting. At least these morons choose to go in there and get beat up without limits. Unlike the poor gladiators of Rome who were forced to fight and die . Either way they were dead.

Perhaps because some people are discerning?
