One we should have won.

I've been watching this game too. How on earth did we ever lose to WFU? Weather I know but wow.

I might be the only one on the board that doesn't believe the whole "weather" thing. Our playcalling was terrible. Run, run, pass. WF passed the ball effectively but we couldn't, it's just an excuse. We lost because of poor playcalling and no running game. You can't have one running play and win games.

interesting if actually true.. but of our 14 drives, two were run run pass..
we threw more times for more yards than wake as well. we completed more pass, we had more yds..

wake ran the ball better thats a fact, but it wasnt anything other than a couple QB runs and a RB who is much better after contact.

denying the weather took away all the deep throws which is a staple of this offense to open the field up is wrong. I will say that we should have pass even more though. wake threw 30% of the time we three 40% of the time. we have been much better when its been closer to 50% and thats what they did they 2 games after that. they learned to trust the kids more.

No, you're not the only one (with apologies to John). In the 1st quarter Wake was completing passes while we didn't even try. The announcers said they had wind in their backs, so it made some sense. Then in the 2nd quarter we continued to not even try to throw, while they continued to complete passes into the wind. As Dino confirmed in the postgame presser (regretting they didn't run more) they already had their minds made up not to pass. Think the weather messed with Dino's head more before the game than during it.

Didn't even feel like we passed this much, but yeah short stuff. Your point about the deep throws being taken away is valid.

it messed with our game plan but wake only complteted 13 passes.. the problem was they completed several keys ones and the passes they throw are much easier into the wind than the ones we typically throw they require touch.

does any not remember we threw right down the field twice in the 2nd quarter with the wind. the issue was wake completed a long TE seem pass and a long QB run into the wind and that killed us.

We were simply just flat out played that game, dominated in the all important trenches. Things may have been different if the weather was nice, but mentally we were just ill-prepared imo. It happens. NCST had Clemson beat at Clemson a couple weeks back...their kicker missed a couple of chippies that game, including the one to win it in regulation. BC beat NCST yesterday in Raleigh. It's football...any given day.

Yeah the weather might have been a slight factor but sometimes you just lose to a team you shouldn't lose to. That's what happens when you're rebuilding a team with a completely new identity. Happens.

ED admitted to letting the weather get into his head, instead of just playing.

It was a very winnable game that got away. Lucky for us the have a "very, very good coach" that won enough this year, he'll be sticking around for a bit longer.

I think we drop 44+ on Wake next year in the dome.

both sides of the ball played a much cleaner game after the wake loss. clemson still has a huge talent gap on us but mental mistakes led to much of the size of the UL/ND/USF losses, a month of growth is huge in these new schemes

I am with you our play calling was lacking. even without the running game, the play calling just wasnt aggressive enough .

I thought I was watching a mix of HCDM and HCSS game strategy. It was really weird.

The Army is running their option offense very well this year . It is not easy to stop the option if you don't have a lot of experience against it . I think the big wigs at the Army are getting serious about beating Navy .

Bwahahaha

Army beat Temple as well . When they bring their A game , they are physical and tough to beat .

I'm more upset on how SU lost to ND than any team they have played. ND is solid on O but SU made them look like NFL players and ND hasn't came close to looking like that against anyone else.
