Good post. I honestly don't think VCU is a big deal -- as long as it's VCU vs. Dayton in the A10 final we're fine. VCU was probably already in.
UConn could end up being OK as well as long as they win the AAC.
Michigan is the backbreaker.

It will come down to 2 things:
1) What the committee thinks of mid-majors with a high win total, but a lack of quality wins
2) The JB factor

The committee could ignore the JB thing completely and we could still get in if they value teams like Syracuse and Vanderbilt over teams like Valpo and St. Mary's. History shows the committee does value those P5 schools, but some "experts" like Lunardi tend to favor the mid-majors. As long as the committee sticks with this narrative and possibly screwing the AAC again (cough CINCY cough) , we will be in OK shape.
